hi everybody!!! i'm new of here and i decided to subscrive this site because i would share with you all some new things that through my mind in those days...
i'm not english, i'm italian, so i apologize for my language.
we know that some DEs knew about the horcrux(for example L.Malfoy put the diary of T,Riddle in ginny's pot because he knew what it was and not to make a joke to her,do you agree?), but they don't know about every of them.
In fact none knew about the horcrux that was hidden in the cave, because RAB said"it was I who discovered your secret" !!!
It means that only Voldemort and him knew about it!!!
So voldemort didn't trus at all of the DEs; probably he was frightened that they could destroy them...
is possible that a DE find out where is hidden an Horcrux, without the help of voldemort???
i mean without voldemort tells him the right place...
we have to remember that LV was able to read in the mind, so none could do anything without he knew it!!!

LV may have entrusted a few hand-picked DE's with horcrux. Malfoy had the diary, but his actions with Ginny may have been fool-hardy. Point to consider: Spinner's End

The question is, did any other DE know who had been entrusted with what? The information may well have been compartmentalized (don't know if I spelled that right).

I'm sure this is being discussed (ad nauseam some would say) on the boards, but it's fun to discuss.

In GoF, LV says stuff about how the DEs knew steps that he took to gain immortality, so they knew he did it, they probably know it was Horcruxes, but I think you're right that most of them didn't know the locations of any. I think members of his inner circle would each know the location of one or maybe two of the Horcruxes. I don't think Lucius knew that this was what the diary was. I don't think the DEs would dare destroy a Horcrux, so that's not really a concern of his. But it would have been had he known about RAB...
