Which Special Days In The World Of Harry Potter Should Be Global Holidays?

Pick a date, any date, that pertains to an event in a Harry Potter book.

Name the Holiday that falls on your date and explain why it should be a Global Holiday.

I'll Start:

October 31 should, In addition to Halloween, be known as Liberation Day

because Lily and James Potter were murdered on that date and should be remembered

and Harry Potter was marked as Voldemort's equal on that day.

It should be a global Holiday because It marked the end of the first war and the initial downfall of Voldermort. It also marked the beginning of the phenomenon that is Harry Potter.

Happy Day After the 27th Aniversary of Liberation Day

Have Fun with this thread!

I think it has to be Harry's birthday :July 31...
Because it all started with his birth...

Let's call it the 'harry potter day'

EDIT: being a snape fan how can i forge this....I want his birthday or deathday to be a holiday...

Global holidays? Mmm... maybe just Hogwarts jurisdiction holidays. The closer to global was european threat by Gellert & Albus alliance, until he decided to break it & send his lover to the jail after defeating him.
I don't mind if the books are titled: Harry Potter & whatever thing happen to him. His only merit, for me, is have the guts to accept he has to sacrifice himself. He doesn't defeat Voldemort, because is as usual... evil falls over its own weight. In this case the antagonist's overconfidence.
I'd prefere to celebrate Shacklebolt's coming to the Ministry.

The day Voldemort falls (whatever day in the spring that is) should be celebrated, but I see it as more of a UK holiday than a world wide one.

Isn't Harry Potter day suggested in PS/SS Chapter 1? The day the Boy survived?

But what about Sirius Black Memorial Day, a day in which Sirius finally lost the opportunity to prove his innocence. A death not in vain, no-one "ate" his sould (Death Eater?). No horcrux was derived by his slaughter (nor R.A.B.?). A just cause; and Harry and the "kids" were at that point in serious trouble.

When Molly told Bel. L'Str. to leave her "kid" alone, perhaps she was thinking "Sirius" at the time, as well.
